BJHS is a Grade 7-9 school located in Brooks, Alberta. In the middle of our school we have a courtyard we are going to transform into a great learning and social space!
Our project started small and has grown to be something that will impact the whole school. We want to do so many things with our space and have big plans.
This courtyard provides our students with an area that can be an outdoor social and learning space. We are excited about our progress so far and our projects to come!
We have BIG plans!
From the installation of picnic tables and benches, to the creation of art murals, the courtyard will not look the same again. We also plan to:
-grow a vinewall
-create a vegetable garden
-rainwater collection system
-pergola for shade
-beautify with flowers
-drip irrigation for conservation
Our Project is being spearheaded by the teacher team of Mr. Hugill and Mr. Graham.
We also have an amazing team of students eager to help out.
We also need to thank the following financial contributors:
-BJHS Student Council
-BJHS Parent Council
-TD Friends of the Environment
-Learning for a Sustainable
-local Brooks businesses
